Summit Medical Center’s doctors collectively represent more than 250 years of service to Casper patients. They live, work and are rooted in the community. Our physicians are also regular volunteers and leaders to numerous Casper organizations. Casper families rely on their care and expertise and can now be treated in a hospital managed by their doctors.
Robert Allaire, M.D. is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and a member of Casper Orthopedic Associates. He has fellowship training in shoulder, elbow and hand surgery as well as fellowship level training in fracture surgery. Dr. Allaire has a special interest in joint replacement surgery including knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow replacement, as well as arthritis surgery for the hand. He completed his fellowship, residency, and medical school training at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Allaire also received a BS in biomedical physics from the University of California at Irvine.
David Baxter, M.D., a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist, is an active medical staff member at Casper Orthopaedic Associates. Dr. Baxter is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Medical Association. Dr. Baxter received his medical degree from University of Nebraska Medical Center. He received his certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology and holds medical licenses in Wyoming and Nebraska.
Lydia Christiansen, M.D., is a pathologist who serves as the medical director of three regional laboratories, the president of Professional Pathology of Wyoming, PC and the managing partner of North Platte Pathology. Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and hematopathology, she is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and Wyoming Medical Society. Dr. Christiansen earned her medical degree from University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dr. Ellbogen is a Casper native who graduated from Natrona and went on to receive his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. After attending medical school at Creighton, he did his internship and residency at the University of Michigan. He is board certified in pediatrics and has been in private practice since 1992.
Matthew T. Gorman, MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who has been practicing at Casper Orthopedic Associates since 2007. A Wyoming native, he completed his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago and his Orthopedic Residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles where he helped care for the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Kings and Sparks in addition to the Anaheim Angels and Ducks. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dana Ideen, M.D., is a family physician at The Family Clinic in Casper. Dr. Ideen previously served as a research and clinical psychologist in the United States Air Force. He is certified by the American Board of Family Physicians and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Wyoming Academy of Family Physicians, the Wyoming Medical Society and the California Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Ideen received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine.
Eric Lawrence, D.O. specializes in family medicine and serves locally as medical director for Frontier Hospice Care of Casper, Health Care for the Homeless in Casper, and Shepherd of the Valley as well as an adjunct clinical faculty member for the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Lawrence received his medical degree from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Eric H. Linford is a fourth generation Wyoming native and a member of Casper Orthopedic Associates. He completed his medical degree at the University of Colorado Denver and residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Linford completed a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre in Sydney, Australia where he cared for professional rugby and Australian Rules Football athletes. He specializes in complex foot and ankle reconstruction, total ankle replacements, lower extremity reconstruction and general orthopedics.
John Mansell, M.D. is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, practicing for over 24 years. After graduating from MIT he obtained his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. During his 23 years of Army National Guard service he deployed to Iraq on three tours as well as Kosovo, retiring as a Colonel. He also served as the Chief of Professional Services for the 159th MASH during Desert Storm. He is president of the Wyoming Society of Anesthesiologists and a trustee for the Wyoming Medical Society. He specializes in pain medicine.
Joseph Mickelson, M.D., is a family physician and is president of Western Medical Associates. He is certified by the American Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Mickelson received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine.
Matthew Mitchell, M.D. is a surgeon at Casper Orthopedic Associates. Dr. Mitchell has served on the Board of Counselors for AAOS and served in the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force he was a Chief of Surgery, Chief of Orthopedics, and a Deputy Chief of Medical Staff. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and his orthopedic residency at Ohio State University. He completed a foot and ankle fellowship in Sydney Australia and is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Steve Orcutt, M.D. is a physician at Casper Orthopedic Associates. He is a member of the Natrona County Medical Society, Wyoming Medical Society and served on the Board of Counselors for AAOS. Dr. Orcutt is licensed in Wyoming and California and is fellowship trained in hand surgery. Dr. Orcutt received his medical degree from University of California, San Diego and completed his fellowship in hand surgery at USC affiliated Hospitals.
Randall Rice, M.D., is a board certified anesthesiologist. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and serves on the Board of Directors for Aspen Mountain Medical Center. Dr. Rice received his medical degree from University of Kansas School of Medicine.
John Roussalis, M.D.is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He has been featured in nine publications throughout his career and previously served as the clinical instructor in surgery for Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Dr. Roussalis received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine and was granted the 2004 Medical Society of Greater Akron Research Award during his residency. He completed his fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Temple University.
Sam Tilden Scaling, M.D. is an OB/Gyn at Womens Health Associates of Wyoming. Dr. Scaling received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a fellow and Diplomate for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a fellow for American College of Surgeons and the American Fertility Society.
Practicing primary care in Casper for over twenty years, Dr. Schoeber has authored several medical papers and served as Associate Professor of Family Practice while he was Program Director for the Wyoming Family Practice program for ten years. He received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine.
Craig Smith, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has been a partner at Casper Orthopedic Associates since 1994. He serves as a faculty member for the AO North America and has served on the Natrona County Medical Society and the Board of Councilors for AAOS. Dr. Smith received his medical degree from University of Colorado School of Medicine, completed his residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania and his orthopedic trauma fellowship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Lane Smothers, M.D. specializes in general surgery and currently practices at Casper General Surgery. Dr. Smothers earned his medical degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is also an American College of Surgeons fellow and has been practicing in Casper since 2001. Robert Vigneri, M.D., has been practicing in Casper for over 15 years and is a board certified pediatrician. Dr. Vigneri is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Wyoming Medical Society. He earned his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine.
Dr. Samuel Vigneri is a board certified OB/Gyn who has practiced in Casper for over 15 years. Specializing in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and reproductive medicine, Dr. Vigneri received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine.
Daniel W. White, MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon at Casper Orthopedics Associates. He joins the group after a 25-year career in the US Army. He attended the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Medical School and did residency at Madigan Army Medical Center. He completed the John A. Feagin Sports Medicine Fellowship at West Point. He has been the team physician for the West Point Black Knights and multiple Special Operations Combat Teams. Dr. White has a special interest in joint preservation arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee as well as knee and shoulder replacement surgery and trauma care.
Demian Yakel, D.O. specializes in spine surgery and works at Casper Orthopaedics Associates. Dr. Yakel received his medical degree from Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his fellowship in adult degenerative and reconstructive spinal surgery, mini-invasive spine surgery and non-fusion technology at Texas Back Institute.
The founder and co-owner of two dental practices in Casper, Stuart Youmans, D.D.S., is a leading dentist in the community. His areas of expertise include: dental implants, complete mouth reconstruction, all-on-4 treatment, cosmetic dentistry and hospital-based dentistry. Dr. Youmans is a member of the American Dental Association. He earned his dental surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry.
