“Bagpipes at Christmas” is a free public concert featuring the Lander Volunteer Fire Department Pipe Band, local Casper musicians and members of the staff at Casper Orthopedics, including Dr. Matthew Mitchell.
Concertgoers can expect a festive program of Christmas hymns and traditional songs in celebration of the holidays. Donations will be accepted throughout the concert for the Jerry Behrens Foundation, which supports wounded military members, firefighters and police officers as well as their families.
The Jerry Behrens Foundation was established to support wounded and ill service members in honor of the lifelong achievements and commitment to community service that was demonstrated by Jerome A. Behrens, M.D., co-founder of Casper Orthopedics. The support was later expanded to include firefighters and police officers. Casper Orthopedics funds the administrative cost of services so that all financial contributions to the foundation go directly to its beneficiaries.
“At Casper Orthopedics, we are grateful to our military members, firefighters and police officers who serve and protect us,” says Dr. Matthew Mitchell, orthopedic surgeon at Casper Orthopedics. “We are proud to put on this event to honor them and raise awareness of the Jerry Behrens Foundation, which, through generous donations, is able to provide help to those who serve as well as to their families.”
