When Summit Medical Center opens in early April, its industry leading imaging department will welcome patients into an advanced suite of all digital imaging and diagnostics. Summit Medical Center’s capabilities will be uniquely streamlined and mobile, with results that can be more easily shared or transferred. In addition, the facility will feature state-of-the-art mammography equipment from Hologic that is truly unmatched in the surrounding areas.
“The benefits to an all digital imaging suite are impressive,” said Dennis Jack, CEO, Summit Medical Center. “With a comprehensive collection of advanced equipment, Summit Medical Center will be able to produce quick diagnostic results that can be digitally transferred to appropriate providers or even given to the patient on DVD.”
Of particular note is the hospital’s digital mammography equipment from Hologic, esteemed for its early detection capabilities, which produces sharp images that radiologists can then magnify and adjust contrast levels to improve visibility. The digital mammography system also emits considerably less radiation than traditional imaging processes and its rapid scanning process takes less than four seconds to complete.
“The Hologic system manages screening, diagnostic and interventional procedures, and even has an ergonomic design that lets patients maintain a more natural position, which makes the entire screening process more comfortable for them,” said Jack.
Summit Medical Center is the only hospital within 100 miles of Casper to offer the leading capabilities of the Hologic digital mammography system. Also included in the hospital imaging suite are ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, mobile X-Ray, pediatric imaging and more—all fully digital systems that allow for rapid turnaround of results and ease of sharing.
