Robert Shawhan, MD

Dr. Robert Shawhan is a Board Certified physician of the American Board of Surgery and a member of several professional societies including the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He received his Bachelor of Science from Salisbury University and his Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, then completed his General Surgery Residency and Internship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Previously, Dr. Shawhan served as General Surgery Clinic Chief at Madigan Army Medical Center and, before that, as a Trauma Surgeon in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He provides general, robotic, and bariatric surgery for patients at Summit Medical Center.
